Most recently I had something called Triple Delight and it was great. I didn't get fried rice, just white so I cannot confirm or deny complaints about it. One of the things I have to say about Chinese food is I think people may have quite different expectations which would explain the wild variation in reviews. My huband likes egg rolls not spring rolls (the difference in our experience being that egg rolls are usually mostly bean sprouts whereas spring rolls are usually cabbage.) I had a spring roll and he had an egg roll, and although the wrappings were different the inside was the same, both cabbage. That was kind of disappointing. I had hot and sour soup with my meal and he had egg drop and both were good. He ordered sesame chicken which he was very happy with. I tasted it and it was good but I'm not a big fan of any kind of breaded chicken in chinese dishes. I'm giving it 4 stars because I did not have a single complaint on either of my two visits. We'll see if it continues to satisfy us on future visits.

Fortunately everything went well, and the menu contained a number of pretty enticing dishes, including interesting vegetarian options. I ordered one of the New Year's Specials, a dish of stir-fried Udon noodles with pork. It was really delicious; the noodles had a great texture and the pork was tasty, so I was really happy with my choice. My husband had the Sizzling Chicken, which came with a vegetable mixture; it was good but not as spicy as he prefers. The soups we ordered with our meal (hot & sour and wonton) were both good but not mind-blowing; the wonton soup for instance had a nice clear broth with some scallions and tasty wonton but nothing else to liven it up. The egg rolls were decent but nothing special.Service here is brisk and attentive and the prices are quite reasonable. In between the vegetable dishes and the brown rice option, they seem to be interested in offering more healthful selections than the standard Michigan Chinese restaurant. Our main complaint is that the overall flavor profile is a little toward the bland and sweet, in keeping with most Midwestern takes on Chinese food. In a metropolitan area with a of dearth of great Chinese food, Golden Chopsticks is a pretty good option.
